Our Sections

109th Scout Group currently has over 90 young people (including Squirrels) and adult members spread across Squirrel Drey, a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack and Scout Troop as well as an Explorer Unit.

Lead by a fantastic team of dedicated and highly committed volunteers the Group provides a balanced and structured programme for children aged between 4 and 18 which enables them to learn new skills, meet new friendship groups, achieve personal goals and challenges, try new experiences and in doing so learn by having fun.

A flavour of some of the activities the Sections do include: –

  • Nights away experiences
  • Adventurous Activities
  • Water Sports
  • Camps
  • Survival techniques (Fire lighting, use of axe & knives, shelter building)
  • Day trips
  • Map & Compass work
  • International Scout Camps and jamborees

This list is far from exhaustive but shows what we are trying to achieve and with the growing numbers within the Group, I would say we are doing a pretty good job.

Each section will have information on what they do, what badges they can earn and other details parents / guardians of members and potential members may find useful.
