There are loads of fun things that you can do as a Cub Scout. You will get a chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform.
Cub Scouts also get to go on trips and days out, to places like the zoo, theme parks or a farm. Sometimes you will be able to go camping with the rest of your Pack. This will mean you sleeping in a tent and doing loads of outdoor activities.
Cub Scouts borrows a great deal of its 'system' from the Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. The Cubs meet in a group called a Pack (as in a pack of wolves). The leader of the Cub Scout section is Akela and other leaders may take Jungle Book names such as Baloo, Chil, Shere Khan etc.
Cubs moving to scouts is something we take great care in dealing with, this due to the age of the child and the fact our scouts meet after Cubs on Tuesday evenings.
From September 2018, we will only be moving Cubs to Scouts when they reach P7. Cubs will be moving to Scouts after Christmas to avoid interrupting exams and other school pressures.
If you would like your son / daughter to move up to scouts at a certain time, please speak to us and we can try and arrange this.
