109th Scout Group
The Scout Group is led by a Group Scout Leader (GSL) and managed by a Group Executive Committee. The different Sections are run by Uniformed Leaders. All are unpaid volunteers who have been checked to ensure they are suitable to work with young people and who have available the support and training they need from The Scouts (Scout Association) to ensure everyone involved enjoys Scouting in a safe manner.
All of our volunteers come from all sorts of backgrounds. Some are Teachers, Some work for Local Businesses or Authority, some are students and some are retired, plus many more.
All of our volunteers bring many different skills which they use on a daily basis to help run the sections that they are in.
Our volunteers are the most important part to the 109th Scout Group, as without them, we wouldn’t be able to offer young people all the fantastic activities, adventures and provide #SkillsForLife! .

In fact, the 109th Scout Group, just like every other Scout Group is a charity run by volunteers. Our adults do not get paid for the time that they give! Each year will pay a large amount of money to The Scouts (The Scout Association) to remain part of it.
We do what we do in return for seeing the development of young people in our local area and because we enjoy what we do. We give our time but would not be able to provide our members with the fun and adventurous activities that we do without your help. As well as providing activities and events for our young members and young adults, we also have a number of bills to pay, badges and equipment, tents and other camping equipment to buy.
