Explorers / Young leaders are one and the same, you must be registered with an Explorer Unit to be a Young Leader.
Explorer Scouts provide boys and girls with the opportunity to take part in adventurous and challenging activities. They are encouraged to take part in community schemes, international camps and environmental projects. They help out in the younger sections of the scouts and regularly take part in voluntary activities within their own community.
Explorer Scouts are a very modern organisation as they can easily accommodate the young people when they are busy studying for examinations or doing other things. A flexible programme facilitates activities at week-ends and during the holidays. The range of activities on offer is extending by linking up with other explorer scouts in Northern Ireland. Scouting is about being with friends, as part of a team, participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life.
Our leadership team is entirely made up of volunteers who enjoy running scout meetings activities and camps! All adult leaders have training and an Access NI check, and there is always at least one adult who is first aid qualified in attendance at all events.
If you would like the opportunity to do something you’d never thought of doing, while having lots of fun and giving back to the community at the same time, please get in touch – we can always do with more leaders! You don’t have to be an expert in all-things-scouting – the only essential ingredient is wanting to have fun scouting!
Explorer Leader: Tim (Explorer Scout Leader / Skip) email@example.com
Assistants : Gwen (Assistant Explorer Scout Leader / Akela)
